Tile and Grout Cleaning in Orange County CA
As hard and durable as ceramics are, layers of grime can build up on their surface and make tile flooring look old and unattractive. Pacific Carpet and Tile Cleaning in Los Angeles California can quickly restore tile floors and grout to their original appearance using a process that’s suitable for both residential and commercial installations.
How we clean tile
First, we apply an alkaline tile cleaner to the surface and scrub with a heavy duty floor scrubber. Then we use a truck-mounted solution pump that’s connected to a spinner attachment with a hose. The pump allows the operator to simultaneously rinse and extract the soiled solution at a rate of about 5 gallons per minute. The spinner works like an inverted dishwasher, except the water temperatures can be as high as 270 degrees F. But don’t worry. The spinner enclosure prevents overspray, and the soiled solution is removed to a holding tank. Our tile-cleaning surface may be used for cleaning marble, granite, and other types of natural stone.
Grout cleaning services
Grouted tile joints, because of their porosity and texture, are like magnets for dirt and stains. Even after they have been blasted by the spinner, they may still show soiling or staining. So our technicians may resort to an acid-based cleaner to etch away any remaining discoloration. This cleaning is followed by the same rinse and extraction cycles described above. To prevent staining in the future, a sealer is typically applied to grouted joints and natural stone surfaces. The sealer fills pores in grout and stone but will not change its appearance. Note: Glazed ceramic tile does not need sealing because it is non-porous.
