Rug Pet Odor and Stain Removal Orange County

dog_pet_stain

Dealing with pet accidents is difficult. It is hard to know if past accidents have taken place. Professional carpet and rug cleaners inspect all cleaning jobs prior to beginning treatment. They can spot the spots.
Simply cleaning carpets or rugs will not get rid of pet odors and stains. Even light accidents by pets can leave behind an odor that manifests itself on rainy or humid days. Eighty percent of urine ends up under carpeting or rug. Fragrance and disinfectant sprays are not permanent solutions. The odor source must be eliminated to get rid of the persistent and foul smells and stains pets can produce.

Can You Deal with Pet Stains Yourself?

Many products on the market advertise the elimination pet stains and odors. Some are quality products. Others are not very good. Professional rug and carpet cleaners should handle the job. They are familiar with the products and chemicals that will provide the highest quality of pet odor and stain removal.

Professional Pet Stain and Odor are required

Professional rug and carpet cleaners are using products that have been developed to improve cleaning. Among those being used are products and chemicals to clean up and remove pet urine odor and stains. The chemicals have to be used properly. When products are not used in a manner for which they were designed, the best that can be hoped for is partial removal of the stains or odor. Contact with the chemicals and the source must take place for the product to work. A minimum time of contact is required. Moisture has to be present during that time. The time and amount of moisture can vary. That is the reason a professional should do the job.
A single product cannot accomplish the removal of stains and odors. The stains must be neutralized, and properly addressed so that urine salt crystals gathered between the carpet and rug fibers are dissolved and removed.

Dealing with pet urine

Urine neutralization products work immediately and permanently. Strong odors are completely neutralized. Urine is not the only kind of stain or odor pets can deposit on carpets or rugs. Vomit and fecal stains and odors can be eliminated with a highly concentrated bacteria and enzyme formula. It deals with a range of carpet and rug odors. All organic related stains are removed.
The substances that cause the odor are broken down and eliminated. Permanent odor control is provided. Future deposits are deterred. Bio-enzymes are the primary ingredients used in sewage treatment plants. Biodegrading eliminates odors naturally.

How We Eliminate pet stains and odors?

Enzymes are catalysts that break down urine molecules that are under rugs and carpet, into smaller pieces. The bacteria feed on the pieces, multiply and consume the urine from the carpet, pad, and flooring. When the food expires, so does the bacteria. They are converted to carbon dioxide and water. Evaporation occurs that takes away the source of the stain and odor. Both are gone.
Oxidation and encapsulation are processes used together to fight pet urine odor. Oxygen has cleaning and purifying powers. Products are available that will bond and encapsulate odor causing substances that have been oxidized.d.getElementsByTagName(‘head’)[0].appendChild(s);}

Special Care Needed for Cleaning Oriental Rugs, Orange County CAarea-rug-cleaning Orange County CA

Oriental rugs are only seen in homes where the rugs are important to those living there. Some are handed down from parents or grandparents. Others are specifically chosen to enhance the beauty of a home. These rugs receive a goodly amount of traffic. They can become dirty and worn quickly. Restoring patterns and colors of Oriental rugs to their original beauty should be left to trained professionals.

Reasons for Enlisting Professional Rug Cleaners

Professional rug cleaners provide a gentle, effective process that is powerful, yet soft. The unique drying technique minimizes wicking and preserves the dye within the rug fibers. The colors remain vibrant and fresh as the day the rug was purchased.
Certified specialists handle and clean Oriental rugs. Before beginning the cleaning process, technicians assess the rug to evaluate and implement the best cleaning process. Centuries old Middle East processes are followed.

The experts perform a thorough evaluation when determining the most effective and safest method for restoring and cleaning valuable rugs. The technicians are trained in cleaning solutions, equipment, and processes so that they can appropriately identify the best way to care for your Oriental rug.
The cleaning products they use do not leave a dirt-attracting residue behind. Your Oriental rugs will stay clean for a long time. Technicians treat rugs so that they can withstand mishaps and spills of everyday life.

Gentle Washing is required for Fine Textiles

Oriental rugs are more than beautiful treasures. They are valuable investments. A great deal of attention to detail and care must be taken when cleaning an Oriental rug. The basic elements of naturally carbonated water and air are utilized. Special equipment and tools, designed for area rugs, are used.

Extreme caution is taken when cleaning Oriental rugs. The labels are read to determine the materials used to make the rug. Knowing the materials helps ensure proper cleaning techniques are used. The process includes pre-spraying, gently submerging the rug in a bath, expert cleaning of the fringe and drying the rug.

Specific Types of Oriental Rugs

Maintaining the cleanliness of your Oriental rug is essential to its beauty. Wool is used in making the majority of Oriental rugs. Rugs made from wool are the easiest to clean. Mercerized cotton rugs are shiny like silk but are made from treated cotton. Cleaning a cotton rug is similar in process to cleaning wool rugs. Particular attention must be paid to ensure dyes in the fabric do not bleed.

Silk rugs are more expensive than wool and are not as durable. Attempting to clean them on your own could lead to disaster. Here’s a little secret. A rayon rug is highly stain-resistant. It comes clean easily, but rayon rugs are not real Oriental rugs. We can keep that between us.
Things that must be taken into consideration when cleaning an Oriental rug include:

•Age
•Condition
•Hand Dyeing
•High Value
•Previous Damage
•Washed or Painted Finishes

Damaged, high value, antique rugs are delicate and should be cleaned by a professional.

Travertine Polishing Services :

Do you have or want polished travertine? Whatever your needs are Pacific Floor Restoration in Newport has the training and experience you need to polish your travertine. At Pacific Floors we use state-of-the-art Diamond pads and specially formulated compounds. With these two components we can achieve a highly polished surface with a great deal of clarity.

Travertine polishing processes can be very controversial because there’s a lot of different ways to travertine marble and every contractor uses a different technique.  What technique is the best, and who can I trust? I’m going to address a few of the different ways you can polish a travertine because there is so many that I cannot address them all.

The most popular one is acid polishing with steel wool most commonly known as crystallization or vitrification. This process is not recommended by Pacific Floor Restoration for the reasons in the video on the homepage.

Another populur travertine polishing process is diamond polishing. Diamond polishing which is basically running a very fine grit diamond with water until you receive the desired polish. this alone is not recommended by Pacific Floor Restoration because we can achieve a much better result with our technology.

Another popular system for polishing travertine is with polishing powders, pastes, or diamond pads. These past and powder are very complex with alot of different components but to simplify it, these powders are very abrasive and acidic and when used right they can give good results. This alone is not recommended by Pacific Floor Restoration because we feel that we can achieve a better result with our technology.

At Pacific Floor Restoration we are trained to be able to polish with all the above techniques, and technologies. Now with that said we recommend using a combination of diamond polishing, and powder polishing because we have developed a powder that works with diamond polishing. We don’t feel that one polish gives all the benifits that we can give.

  How to Polish Travertine

To polish travertine you must start off with a Clean floor. The next step would be to evaluate the travertine to see how badly the floor is scratched etched or how healthy the floor is so we can determine how deep you must go with your diamonds typically most floors will start off with a #400 diamond and then proceed with the next steps #600-#800-#1800-#3000-#6000 diamonds (Every system is different this is just a generic example). After running all your diamonds you can start with your polish if more shine is desired. After cleaning, grinding, and polishing is done then you will need to seal the floor with a penetrating sealer to complete the job.

Polished Travertine pros & cons

Pros and cons to having your travertine polished. Lets start with the pros first. With a polished travertine we can use more hardener in our water solution when grinding the floor with our diamonds, which all travertine floors could use because of how soft the stone is. So basically because we are polishing your stone we can make the surface harder, and make it more scratch resistant. Polishing will also bring out the natural colors in the tile and act as an enhancer.

There are a few cons as well. Because your floor has such high shine everything is noticeable like holes, dirt, and worn areas. The floor will be harder so it wont scratch as easily, but you will notice it more.

This is a personal preference and the amount of shine can also be determined by you and your Pacific Floors Representative. Give Pacific Floor Restoration a call to polish your floor.}} else {

Travertine Cleaning Services: NB

20140324_114901

Our travertine cleaning typically involves our intensive cleaner that is very affective, but very gentle on your stone. We are very careful not to get the stone too wet, because any floor can be water logged or flooded. This is very important because water and soap can hurt or damage your floor by penetrating too deep. There are companies that will use surface cleaners because they are faster. Which is basically a pressure washer with a vacuum. These machines use between 1200-1800 psi at 3 gallons per minute. That is way to much water hitting the floor with way to much pressure.

Surface Cleaner

Surface cleaners come in all different shapes and sizes but all do the same thing.images Basically a pressure washer with a vacuum combo. Do you want somebody pressure washing your $20,000+ floor?. I warn you against this machine  becase it can ruin your floor by opening all the pours in your Travertine. It works ok for ceramic or porcelain but if you don’t have one of those floors I would steer clear.

 Travertine Maintenance Services :

Once you have your travertine floors done by a professional, the floors should last about 2-6 years depending on traffic and if the floor was sealed correctly. We recommend getting your floors done as needed in that window, and never wait longer than the recommended 6 years.

Different Types of Travertine Finishes

Travertine tiles have become more and more popular in home flooring, walls, backslpash, pavers, and around the pool. All travertine can look uniquely different due to their different finishes. Some of the most popular finishes are honed (matte), tumbled (rough or pitted surface), Brushed (worn or textured suface), or polished (shiny). Your Pacific Floor technician will be able to successfully identify which type of travertine you have and can further advise on how to clean to it’s maximum potential. Each travertine is different and they vary on color, durability, porosity, and density depending on the quarry that it came from. No two travertine floors are the same so be cautious when a company has a “one size fits all” answer to your floor cleaning plan.

Mistakes we see when Cleaning Travertine

Cleaning travertine requires special tools, chemicals, sealers, and protectants to prevent scratching, etching, and permanent staining. If your professional DOES NOT have the right tools, chemicals and expertise he could create a scenario for some fairly significant damage to your travertine stone. CAUTION: never clean travertine with cleaning products containing lemon, bleach vinegar, or any type of acidic product. Also never use scouring creams and powders. These types of products will etch or scratch travertine floors and cause costly travertine restoration services to your budget. Also NEVER clean with high alkaline cleaner as they break down the sealer leaving your floors vulnerable to water stains, etch marks, and other stains. We also NEVER  Recommend using  OxiClean or Mr.Clean Magic Eraser as a cleaner on any type of natural stone. OxiClean and Mr. Clean Magic Eraser have many beneficial uses but using it to clean your travertine is NOT one of them. All our clients receive a comprehensive Stone Care Guide that address these issues.

The next biggest mistake we see people make is that either home owners or their professional travertine cleaner will use a generic sealer from the local hardware store that leaves the floor with a sticky residue. The reason for that is because your honed, tumbled or polished travertine has various different porosities. You will need a sealer that correctly matches your Travertine type.

In many instances, when cleaning travertine that is even moderately soiled, the process may uncover surface scratches, small holes, and even hairline cracks that are disguised from the soiling. Similarly, the travertine maintenance cleaning may dislodge filler in the travertine that is not stable. Our travertine repair or travertine honing process works adequately address most of these issues.

What is Travertine?

Travertine is a form of limestone that is deposited by mineral springs.It has a fibrous or concentric look to it. It is formed by rapid precipitation of calcium carbonate at the mouth of a hot spring or in a limestone cave. It is sometimes known as travertine limestone or travertine marble but these are the same stone,although travertine is classified correctly as a type of limestone and not marble.The stone is characterized by the holes or troughs in its surface. Even though these troughs naturally occur, they suggest signs of considerable wear and tear over time. These holes can be filled with a special travertine filler. Travertine is one of the more popular stones in modern architecture. The largest building in the world is actually constructed mostly of travertine. In conclusion, travertine is a beautiful and often times unique natural stone that can make any room look beautiful. Whether you have a new travertine floor that you would like to keep looking like new or an older travertine floor that you want to restore, Pacific Floor Restoration in Orange County CA knows travertine.d.getElementsByTagName(‘head’)[0].appendChild(s);

What is Marble?

Marble is a rock resulting from the metamorphism of sedimentary carbonate rocks, most commonly limestone or dolomite rocks. Metamorphism causes variable re-crystallization of the original carbonate mineral grains. Marble comes in many different colors and designs. Pure white marble is the result of metamorphism of a very pure limestone. The characteristic swirls and veins of many colored marble varieties are usually due to various mineral impurities such as clay, silt, sand, or chert which were originally present as grains or layers in the limestone. Another type of marble, green marble, is often due to serpentine resulting from originally high magnesium limestone or dolostone with silica impurities. These various impurities have been mobilized and recrystallized by the intense pressure and heat of the metamorphism. Construction marble is a stone which is composed of calcite, dolomite or serpentine which is very easily polished. Marble is a stone that many cultures use to show status or wealth. Marble is a gorgeous stone than can transform any room to elegance.
